Two brothers received the International Children’s Peace Award

New Delhi : Two real brothers Vihaan and Nav Agarwal, residents of Delhi, have been given the International Children’s Peace Award. He has been given this award for starting a project related to reducing waste and pollution in his house and planting trees. Indian Kailash Satyathi, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, presented the award to both the brothers in The Hague.

Under this award, both the brothers will get a grant for education and care and a fund of one lakh euros or about 85 lakh rupees, half of which will go to their project. Vihaan, 17, and Nav, 14, said they would use the award and the recognition they earned to spread their network further across the country and beyond. We want zero waste generation all over the world,” Vihaan told AP a day before receiving the award.

And this means that this message should reach not only India but every city, every town and every village. The two brothers came up with the idea of their one-step greener project to segregate and recycle waste after a landfill site collapsed in Delhi in 2017 and a sheet of pollution spread over the city the day after the incident. Vihaan said that he often had to stay indoors due to bad air. His One Step Greener project has now reached over 1500 homes, schools and offices.
