All-party interim government may be formed after the resignation of the President

Sri Lanka, Colombo: Now the government has been forced to bow down to the demands of the protesters in Sri Lanka. The main opposition parties agreed to form an all-party interim government following the possible resignation of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in the face of the fierce protests. Meanwhile, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has ordered officials to ensure smooth distribution of LPG to the fuel-starved country. The President has officially informed Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe that he will resign as previously announced. The Prime Minister’s Office of Sri Lanka has given this information. Amidst the ongoing protests over the economic and political crisis in Sri Lanka, all the protesters say that they will remain in the Rashtrapati Bhavan until President Gotabaya resigns. Significantly, the protesters occupied both the office of the President and the official residence.
