Harshada Garuda won the gold medal

New Delhi: Maharashtra’s weightlifter Harshada Garud has won another historic gold medal. He has won gold in 45 weight category at the Asian Junior Weightlifting Championship being played in Tashkent. She is the first lifter in the country to win gold in this championship. Earlier, he had won gold for the country for the first time in the Junior World Championships two months ago. Harshada got the first position this time, performing even better than the World Championships. He lifted a total of 157 kg with 69 in snatch and 88 in clean and jerk. He lifted 153 kg in the Junior World Championships. Soumya Dalvi, playing in this category with Harshada, lifted a total of 145 kg and finished fifth. Philippine’s Ros Ramos finished second with 153kg.
