Born on 30 July 1973, 47 years old actor Sonu Sood belongs to Moga, Punjab. He did his schooling at Sacred Heart School in Moga and his college education at YCC Nagpur. He joined Yashwantrao Chavan College for modeling. He also holds a degree in Engineering in Electronics. His father, Shakti Sagar Sood, was an entrepreneur by profession, and his mother, Saroj Sood, was a teacher. He also has two sisters Malvika Sood and Monika Sood.

While he was studying engineering, he met Sonali. The acquaintance progressed, and on 25 September 1996, both tied the knot. Ishant and Ayan have their abode in their happy world. Along with the world, his wife and children are also proud of him.

In his early days, he worked as a model for Jeevika. His dream of becoming an actor was fulfilled in 1999 with the Tamil language film Kaaljaghar.’ After this, he became famous on the screen of South Indian cinema. Sonu, who played a negative character in films, emerged as a real hero in the year 2020 during the Corona crisis. During this, he came out as a messiah to help thousands of migrant laborers. He starred in Jackie Chan’s Kung Fu Yoga in 2017 alongside Indian actresses Disha Patani and Amyra Dastur.

During the nationwide lockdown implemented due to the Covid-19 epidemic, he transported thousands of such migrant laborers to their homes, who had neither employment nor money. He did the work of transporting such destitute and helpless migrant laborers to their villages at his own expense. Not only migrant laborers but every person who was expected to reach their destination, people had reached their doorstep.

During the Corona period, the discussion of his selfless service became the headlines of the media and seeing it became an example for the whole country. The then Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh, lauded Moga boy Sonu Sood for helping migrant workers in distress. He took to Twitter to praise Sood. On the other hand, Sonu has been honored with the prestigious SDG Special Humanitarian Action Award by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). He was honored with the award in a virtual program.
