Born on 30 July 1973, 47 years old actor Sonu Sood belongs to Moga, Punjab. He did his schooling at Sacred Heart School in Moga and his college education at YCC Nagpur. He joined Yashwantrao Chavan College for modeling. He also holds a degree in Engineering in Electronics. His father, Shakti Sagar Sood, was an entrepreneur by profession, and his mother, Saroj Sood, was a teacher. He also has two sisters Malvika Sood and Monika Sood.

In his early days, he worked as a model for Jeevika. During the nationwide lockdown implemented due to the Covid-19 epidemic, he transported thousands of such migrant laborers to their homes, who had neither employment nor money. He did the work of transporting such destitute and helpless migrant laborers to their villages at his own expense. Not only migrant laborers but every person who was expected to reach their destination, people had reached their doorstep.
