New Delhi: Due to western disturbances, the weather may worsen again in many states of the country. It may rain in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, West UP, Chandigarh today and in the next few days. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain at some places in these states. Delhi may be partly cloudy with light rain till this evening. Due to rain, the temperature may once again drop in these states and the chill may increase.
According to the Meteorological Department, the mercury remained two degrees below normal in Delhi yesterday. Fog may prevail in the capital, due to which the trains reaching Delhi this morning may get delayed. The Meteorological Department says that the morning of Delhi may be covered in dense fog and partly covered with clouds. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in some parts of Rajasthan in the next two days due to a fresh Western Disturbance.
Due to the disturbance, a pressure of moist winds may form over Southwest Rajasthan today. Due to this, light to moderate rain and lightning may occur in Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Jaipur, Kota and Bharatpur from the night of January 21. Thunderstorm and lightning may occur in Ajmer, Alwar, Bharatpur, Dausa, Dholpur, Jaipur, Karauli, Sikar, Sawai Madhopur, Tonk, Bikaner, Churu, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Nagaur, Jodhpur and Pali districts.
Hail may also fall at few places in Jaipur, Alwar, Sikar, Churu. There is a possibility of scattered rain or snow in Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand in the next two days. On the other hand, widespread rainfall is expected over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan on 22nd and 23rd January.
There is a possibility of heavy rainfall at isolated places in Punjab. Similarly, on January 22 and on January 24, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Assam and Meghalaya. Due to the impact of a cyclone over southwest Bay of Bengal, light rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and Kerala during the next four-five days.
