Assam, Guwahati: Journalists’ Association for Assam (JAFA) today conferred the JAFA Achievement Award 2021 to a total of 27 personalities who have done remarkable work in journalism and other fields. In a program organized at the Public Works Department Training Center, Lastgate, Guwahati, the winners were presented gamochha, memorial, chadar and a bouquet of flowers as part of the award.
On this occasion, Deputy Speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly Dr. Numal Momin, Panchayat and Rural Development Department Minister Ranjit Kumar Dass, senior journalists Naren Hazarika, Baikunth Goswami, Amal Gupta and many other dignitaries were present. It is worth mentioning that Dr. Dibyajyoti Saikia, a national level human rights and social activist, was honored for doing remarkable work in the field of human rights. Apart from this, Jitendra Kumar Choudhary (Dainik Assam), Mausam Jyoti Baishya(The Sentinel), Dhrbvjyoti Pathak (Dainik Assam) for journalism and Adil Khan (Transport Commissioner) etc.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Dibyajyoti Saikia, a national level human rights and social activist of Assam, who has been honored with many national and international awards, has been doing excellent work for peace and humanity for more than two decades. He has been honored with more than 90 awards till date.
Dr. Dibyajyoti Saikia, who has made a mark at the national level from the remote village of Assam, has dedicated his life to human service. His works have been praised by national and international media like Outlook, The Week, Tehelka, New India Express, Al Jazeera, Time magazine etc.
