Earthquake tremors in Ratnagiri

Maharashtra, Ratnagiri: There was an earthquake in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra this morning. It measured 4.0 on the Richter scale. According to the National Center of Seismology (NCS), the epicenter of the earthquake was in Ratnagiri district, 350 km from Mumbai. Their source was recorded 5 km below the ground.

According to NCS chief JL Gautam, the tremors were felt at around 2.36 am. However, there have been no reports of any casualties or damage to property in this yet. Meanwhile, mild tremors were felt in parts of Visakhapatnam yesterday morning, forcing people to come out of their homes in several parts of the city in Andhra Pradesh.

According to reports, tremors were felt in high-rise buildings and apartments in Sagar Nagar, MVP Colony, Peda Waltair, One Town, Akkayyapalem, Kancharapalem, NAD, Gajuwaka and Vepsaginta areas of Visakhapatnam.

Giving information, the National Center for Seismology said that it was an earthquake of 1.8 magnitude. The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation tweeted asking people to take precautionary measures following the tremors at 7:13 am. GVMC said in a tweet, “Requested to take precautionary measures to avoid possible impact of earthquake.
