Karnataka, Bengaluru: The Karnataka government on Tuesday decided to impose weekend curfew and extend night curfew in Bengaluru for two weeks in view of the increase in the number of cases of COVID-19. The government has also decided to close schools and colleges for two weeks for all except class 10th and 12th.
Karnataka Revenue Minister R. Ashok told reporters that we have decided that schools will be closed for all classes in Bengaluru except for classes 10th and 12th. These Kovid related rules will be effective from Wednesday night. Ashok said a weekend curfew would be imposed for two weeks from 10 pm on Friday to 5 am on Monday. All essential services will continue.
Apart from this, the government also announced to extend the night curfew for two weeks. The night curfew period was ending on January 07. The minister also said that not more than 200 people should gather for the wedding ceremony in open spaces. Pubs, bars, cinemas and malls have been allowed to open with 50 per cent capacity.
