World Archery Championship 2025 will be organized in South Korea

South Korea, Seoul: The World Archery Championships to be held in the year 2025 in Gwangju, South Korea. This will be the third time that South Korea will host the World Archery Championships. The decision was taken at the Executive Board meeting held in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Madrid also staked its claim to host the World Archery Championships. But in the matter of selection, Gwangju got 10 votes, while Madrid got one vote. World Archery said in its statement that the Archery Championship to be held in 2025 will be held in the Korean city of Gwangju. Significantly, this will be the third time that this country will host the championship.

Earlier, the Korean city of Seoul had hosted this championship in 1985. At the same time, in the year 2009, the World Archery Championship was organized for the last time in Ulsan. By the way, if seen, Korea has always dominated the world stage in archery. In 2015, Gwangju hosted archery competitions at the Universiade, a temporary arena next to the main tournament venue and the prestigious Asia Culture Center for the finals.

The city of Gwangju is also committed to running an archery outreach program. In four years’ time, the Korean city will also be included in next season’s international calendar. Due to the ongoing travel restrictions in China, the 2022 Hyundai Archery World Cup will be held in Gwangju instead of Shanghai.
